To design aerodynamic surfaces at 60% scale aero models for the clients wind tunnel using CATIA V5 for CFD for wind tunnel racing cars.
Preparation of robust parametric surface models for CFD wind tunnel racing cars to tight deadlines under the direction of the Aerodynamicists.
CAD definition of racing car wetted surfaces to meet Vehicle Design and legality requirements.
This job description may not detail all the duties allocated to the post holder, nor cover duties of a similar nature, commensurate with the role, which may from time to time be reasonably required by the relevant manager.
Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years Catia V5 advanced surfacing experience essential.
Formula 1 Aerodynamics surfacing experience preferably with scale model design experience.
Ability to pass Catia surfacing test to a high standard (surface quality, construction, robustness) within a specific time limit.
Degree in mechanical engineering type discipline preferred.
Creative and thoughtful approach to solving engineering challenges.
High level of attention to detail.
Self-motivated, display a good level of initiative.
Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
Excellent communication and team working skills.
Fluent in spoken and written English.
